Patterson river tonight 22/12

Post by ChrisD » Tue Dec 22, 2015 8:58 pm

Well things did not quite go to plan tonight and the Patterson River continues to prove difficult to fish - the wind was shocking, missed a tonne of bites because of it. Got there and had lines in the water just after 7pm but gave up a 8.45pm, just got too windy. Managed one small bream approx 15cms, maybe 20cms at the absolute most, and a few little bug eyed things that were stealing bait. Still guess it was better than sitting on the couch all night.

I have seen it busier - quite a few launching......one kept me amused - the guy had no idea.
Launched from the furthest ramp and nearly cleaned up the pontoon and wall as he tried to turn around right where he took the boat off.

There were plenty of sea lice out and about last night. In my experience they seem to come on a bit more(the lice) coming up to the full moon. I gave up after a cpl of hrs as I hate wasting fresh squid on lice

Nah weren't sea lice - they were a fish - a few inches long 6 to 8-ish, bug eyes on top of their heads...and big mouths.
