Rough as guts this morning (cup day)

Post by Linc » Tue Nov 06, 2012 8:52 pm

Launched at patterson river at 5am after putting in the effort to get up at 4 am after 3 hours sleep... planed out to 19 meters in no time in beautiful flat water, anchored up, cooked a few snags while waitin for big red and then it hit... winds from the bottoms of hell! There were boats coming from all directions speeding into the river, it was the first time I've felt unsafe in my 4.3M quinnie esacpe, had to really ride the waves and know when to surf them and when to pull back..

Was a pity as we just got some pinkies on the chew and had only fished for 30 mins. after getting back into the safetly of patto river we acnhored up in the river for an hour for no bites.

Anyway moral of the story is no matter how many times you check the forecast it is unpredictable, forecast said 9km wind with gusts to 15 km... we had more like wind to 40km with gusts to 60 km
