Another morning down Patto rocks, becoming a popular lil spot again with the bay trout still hanging around, lures seem to be the best go.

Personally I've landed about 30 myself in 2 sessions, another bloke yesterday arvo couldn't miss with soft plastics, might head down tomorrow and see if I can do it !!

They've been in brine for 4 hours, the coals and hickory are just about ready, it's smoking time ;-)

nice catch :D Is 'bay trout' another word for salmon, or salmon of a particular size / area they are caught?
thanks

Haha yeah they really only go well in the smoker, not the best "table fish"

Hey jim, yeah just a name for smaller salmon, under the 30cm mark generally.

Hey Jim, yes juvenile salmon are called bay trout due to the patterns on them when they are small, as they grow up these fade.
