Wanna try and target some bream on plastics in Patto river

Any tips, good spots, times of day, fav plastics ?

ive fished for bream there using bait...Prawns to be exact, id imagine prawn or Crab SP's would be the go there too.
i was mainly fishing at night 6pm to about midnight-1am but that was back in march.
was also fishing around the end of the boat ramps, on the gravel part near the last boat ramp, but they are all along there...
size 2 hooks were the best size.

Cheers mate, I imagine light gear and just unweighted baits in there ?

I though you had to go in a boat in where the houses are too get the good ones but could never get in there.
Anyone know if you can some how get in?

light gear, but was using a small running sinker, and about 80cm 6lb flurocarbon leader to a size 2 sometimes a size 4 longshank hook and a prawn on the end.
that seemed to work the best, tried sandworms there but the toadies went crazy for them lol

haha yep, tried a paternoster rig on one rod for abit, running sandworms....was getting hammered by toadies...never really got them on prawns though.
sitting 4 light rods between 6'6-7ft long and checking the bait every 10-20 mins worked well, but got alot of undersized bream too.

not at patto but I had a bit of fun chasing bream in gippy. I used straight through 4lb fluro to a size 10 hook with a single #4 split shot about 200mm above the hook. pinked prawns (sit frozen prawns in bowl of boiled water for 30 seconds) then peel and cut into small pieces. Drop this simple rig straight down beside the structure, do not cast it out. let line coil on surface as it very slowly sinks to the bottom. watch line closely. as soon as it accelerates strike. the bream tended to smash it on the way down. if i hit the bottom I reeled it back up and dropped it again.

You will lose plenty of hooks as they tend to get hooked deep. a quick sharp yank will pop the 4lb line easily. slide the split shot up and tie on another hook and off you go again. 4 small prawns will give about 20-30 baits. so very cheap fun fishing. just do the fish a favour and use high carbon hooks.
