Benos Frankston report

Post by Beno » Sat Feb 04, 2012 5:33 pm

G,Day Guys

Was great to take the new boat out for a second time, launched from Olivers hill and was on the water by 8. Anchored in close 10 meters of water but didn't berley until half an hour later. I highly recommend the secret weapon, berley dispenser its legendary. Cut up gars old bits of bait and let it do its work on the bottom thats when the fish started biting. We got 3 just over legal size pinkies and plenty of undersize ones, was hoping for at least 1 kilo snapper but thats fishing. We then decided to move in 13 meters of water off Mt eliza. waited 20 minutes then did the secret weapon again. Once again it puts the fish on the bite!!! For a good hour we were trying to figure out what was under the boat as they were stripping the baits and couldn't provide a good hook up. This is when I changed to a size 6 light gauge mustad circle and caught the first yakka. Yakka after yakka, was quite fun on light gear, threw plenty back as I already have a freezer full. Decided to check my snapper rod as it was bent over with weight and was suprised to have a big flatty on which did not put on one bit of fight! smh

So theres my report, not the best report but fishing is about fun and enjoyment and certainly not who caught the biggest or the most fish ;)

And no i did not put the yakka in the flattys mouth, must of got hungry in the esky :lolf: Cant get it out!
Cheers Beno

nice catch.

Towel to display the fish ????? Did you use downy on that towel to ensure it's soft enough for the fish. :-)
