Live on WPB

Post by Scraglor » Sun Sep 11, 2016 8:33 am

Decided to go for a poke around this morning to see if things were warming up yet. Turned out to be a perfect morning, with the water temp off Hastings up around 13.5 degrees (it was still very cold on the toes when I was launching)

So far not much action, but plagued by leatherjackets. I did get a very fat grassy. Gotta love the colours on them. Hopefully I can locate some KGW soon.

Nah, just put the boat away. Was a good day even if the fishing wasn't crash hot. Couldn't get past the weed and leatheries to find the whiting, so decided to stock up on some baits for the snapper season.

Went to the bait shop and got 30 odd yakkas and a few slimeys. I'll vac seal them up tonight for October/November action. What I wasn't expecting, but were welcome aboard was a heap of flatties. Ended up with about a dozen 30-32cm fish. Probably threw back 30-40 but oh well. I'll stick up a pic a bit later

Haha, yeah, he had another one tbh, because he was too big for me to send him back down on a prong, so he is still happily swimming around

So final tally was 40odd mixed slimeys/yakkas/cowenyoung. As well as 8 flatties which are tomorrow night dinner. Should get me through snapper season for baits (December on is whiting season imo :P)

Also, pics cos people like pics.
