Cat bay/seal rocks
Caught 13 flatty up to 36.
Satdy mornen Decided to go to seal rocks and try catch some pike to salvage the trip. Ended up getting our bag in 2 hours and a nice sweep which measured 37.
All up we got 13 flatty 20 pike 2 couta and a sweep. Not what we wanted but we ended up with a good feed and they taste great on the bbq or in batter.

Re: Cat bay/seal rocks
Yeah we were happy to be able to adapt and go to plan b..
Wish i had of got a photo before we filleted them but we were listenen to the bloody races and got sidetracked..
Ate some of the pike tonight . They are such an underated table fish. White flesh that doesnt fall apart and is firm to eat.
Flathead and pike.. easy to catch and very easy to eat.
I love couta and sweep also so even though the fish we got arent big name fish, they are definitely welcome on my table.
How good is winter fishing... no wankers at the ramp either. Happy days

Re: Cat bay/seal rocks
which ramp did you use I was at werribee sat 3 blokes took 1 hr to retreive their yacht I dont think they had one brain between them, a jet skier who parked blocking the ramp whilst he went and bought a ramp day ticket no consideration there. All in all a normal day at werribee southcrumpet_avenger wrote:Yeah we were happy to be able to adapt and go to plan b..
