Purple5ive, yes grass whiting is what was being caught! :)

Jarvis2001, they were hooking them up on the right hand side at the end of the pier. No far cast needed. And they started biting as the sun came out.

To the other member that suggested perhaps the water was too dirty for the squid to see the bait....I think that could have been a factor!

But considering a good haul of coutta at night and grass whiting in the morning, I'd say it's a very productive pier ATM for fresh bait in time for the upcoming full moon.

So question is....where's a decent spot for gummies landbased? Any ideas?

Grass whiting and leather jackets are there 24/7. If you catch a wrasse and it's legal size use it as funny bait. Heard it works the best in that area

Think I'll have another go chasing squid this afternoon! Hopefully the waters clear by now and stopped by k-mart to grab lighter gear for the whiting. I'll report later tonight!

Give em a cracks heaps there but the grass whiting aren't to flash to eat
