Re: Snapper in yet?
Spent 10 hours on WP yesterday out of Corinella chasing snapper. Launched just before 5am to fish the turn and run out tide at sunrise around bluegum point. Water temp was 15C, about 40 trailers in the car parks when we got back in. We got our fair share of rock cod, banjos, baby gummy and an eagle ray but no snapper for us. Spoke to a few people at the ramp and only one snapper was caught that we saw. Also I was amazed to see one bloke cleanening a good bag of big whiting. I dunno what his secret was but I find them hard to locate in mid season let alone this time of year. Seems to be a late start on the snapper this year, previous seasons we had a lot of success from early September. Another degree rise in water temp should get them in I hope, only a week or so away, fingers crossed.

Re: Snapper in yet?
Because it is exactly that. A normal, small pinkie. Even if he had Ian Thorpe's shoe on its still a pinkie. To say otherwise is ridiculous. A spade should be called a spade, not a gold nugget. And snapper are a year round species. Why everyone has this stupid fascination with 'early season' is beyond me. Not to mention, majority of fish caught May-October are actual snapper, not the school pinkies caught now until Christmas.xwondeuce wrote:I just signed up and the first comment I saw said there's too many wankers by Bonanza, then the next comment was the above. Bonanza was right! Really Barra Mick? A pinky.. so he can fit into 2 yr old shoes. Even if wasn't a nice size snapper early in the season (which it definitely is), who says that stuff anyway. geeez, it's alright Mick, no need to puff your chest out. I hope the next post I read doesn't have this rubbish.
And FYI, Mick has fished more in the last 6 months than you and I have had hot dinners combined most likely

I have pliers similar to that. It is 12 cm long. So here is the pliers side by side with the fish. 12 x 4 = 48 = PINKY!

One mans pinkie is another mans snapper. To me it's not important what someone calls it but my view on pinkie/snapper is similar to barra Mick's.
