I've been out a handful of times around northern ppb this year so far with no snapper yet, the odd one is being caught but there is not a lot of consistency yet. I have been picking up fish on the sounder but its mainly ones and twos, and have had no luck getting bites. Looking back through my fishing diary the first bags of fish for the season have all come from the same weeks - 2014 - 26th October, 2015 - 21st October, 2016 - 28th October, these were all bag out sessions around the gellibrand area. The way the water temp is tracking i would expect the fish will be turning up around the same time again.
Saying all that i will still be out this weekend trying to put one or two on the board.

I got a six and a 5.5 on Saturday. The four trips before that I got SFA in a big way. Probably saw another couple on the sounder.
