I picked up this guy at Stony Point yesterday afternoon. A seal dropped by and was acting cute.

I went to Mornington this morning, figuring I'd be home by lunchtime. It was ... quiet. In maybe two, three hours I saw as many squid caught. Came back after lunch and bagged out in about a hour.

Nice squid. Did u use a float rig or sinker on bottom or just jig alone? I've been using sinker to keep jig down at morno but want some bigger squid so may try sp or flinders

Good luck down that way I’m sure you will get some better size ones than at morno. Let us know how you go

Just a jig. Same as Mornington. Don't be afraid to use large jigs at Mornington, either. Most of those I hooked yesterday were caught on a 3.5.

Yeah OK thanks. Its funny I caught a few with just jigs and not added weight at morno but lately the added sinker has kept jig down where they've been. But your saying jig alone did the job. That's fishing for ya lol .I've gotta get some new jigs today and might head down tomorrow
