Hey girls and boys,
I'm taking the weekend off and towing the tinny to Walkerville in 2 weeks for a boys weekend. Probably drinking and eating more than fishing..but there's always a chance!
I haven't fished there before, but as I am only taking the tinny instead of the Quinny, I was hoping for some advice on weedbeds close in for some squid and possible flatty and tings.
Google earth shows weed beds just off the beach from the lime kilns to the North for a few hundred meters. This looks ok but how long ago was the photo taken?
I'm keen to hear any input.
The weather is on the improve finally so I will be back off Safety Beach and into the bay soon.

Re: Walkerville in 2 weeks
The weed was still there when I visited a couple of times in late summer and autumn, no reason for it to not be there now. I got a few squid, the edges looks like a primo whiting spot but the only time I saw them was out a bit wider in 10m

Re: Walkerville in 2 weeks
Shallow Inlet has good fishing, more protected if its a bit choppy out wide
Re: Walkerville in 2 weeks
Nice little part of the world. Walkerville South has a nice little beach that is protected by the the W/SW winds and you can launch from there. Apparently good spot for whiting. Was there 2 weeks ago, land based fishing but no luck. If you guys are keen, drive 20' to Shallow Inlet. You can launch from the beach and fish the channel. Just be careful, this spot is only accessed on low tide and you can easily get bogged. Have fun

Re: Walkerville in 2 weeks
It's been a lot of years, so it may have changed, but
Do not leave your car & trailer on the beach, park it on the road (Walkerville South )
At high tide, you won't be able to get back up the ramp.
Many a boaty had to leave car etc there until low tide
There was talk of putting a ramp near the houses, I'm talking about a ramp on the other side of the rocky point
4litres might know??
Cheers Gra
