Was reeling in a nice flatty and was just taking my time savouring the fight untill out of nowhere an Arrow apeared and latched onto my flatty. What was already a good fight turned into a tug of war, i ended up lifting my flatty out and slowly hoisting it up onto the pier while the Arrow squid still holding on. Its amazing how aggressive the nature of this squids are and i wouldnt have believed it if it had never happened to me. Also there was a small chunk missing from my flatty from its bite. :o_0:
Im pressive

They are a lot more aggressive than the southern calamari and can rotate their heads 180 degrees so holding them behind their heads like southern cala and they will bite you thicker hoods but still taste good.

And I can say from experience it REALLY ******* hurts.

I'd sooner swim stark naked shaking a bleeding seal carcass amongst 5 great whites than venture in a school of those vicious bastard squid

Holy moly if I’d have known all this - rotating its head180 ! Sounds like the excorsist.
I just grabbed it around the hood like all the other squid.
It had gulped down all the jig hooks right into its mouth, so it was a nasty dental job wrenching the jig out, so it attacked hard.
I only thought about taking the photo of on the bait board after I tried casting a few more times and I just grabbed it like normal from the full live tank after that.
Sounds like I’m lucky not have been bitten.
