Squid session!
Hello all!
This is my first report on this site!
Went out of Grassy point on the kayaks (inbetween Portarlington and Indented Heads). Paddled out towards the mussel farms and tried drifting for squid. However, the estimated 12km/h winds, which are usually perfect for drifting on my kayak, were non-existent. The water was like glass, and I was on the slack tide, which made drifting impossible...and I forgot the burley! So just chucked the yamashita 3.0 jigs around, landed a few average ones (20-25cm hood). In the end, I spent about an hour and a half on the water and I managed 5 in the end. Only kept 3 for bait, let the other two go.
I’ve definitely had better sessions at Grassy point. Everyone else I spoke to had caught donuts, so must’ve just been a bad day overall.
And as everyone says - it only happened if you’ve got photos to prove it!!
Cheers for taking the time to read this!!

Re: Squid session!
Good work, well done, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Re: Squid session!
Nice report mate well done.
I was fishing off the portarlington pier yesterday and didn't get a touch in the 3 hours I was there.
