There should be some salmon around at this time of the year.
No luck with them?

Admiring your determination.
Dont give up. Many of us get donut days and donut trips too.
Fishing is all about trying. Keep trying and one day you'll get that sweet sweet day where the stars are aligned (and no bloody full moon!)

Many of the reports and the videos are showing the great sessions and not manh showing when the anglers had to come back donut after donut.

There's been Aussie salmon around port melb. Maybe try there next?

Pier fishing is a little tricky to get consistent results. I definitely wouldn't go blaming the moon phase for poor results especially when you are landbased. For those interested Wednesday wasn't a full moon but 3 days after it, typically the full moon is seen as a good period for fishing, with 3 days before, day of and day after being the most common time frame people believe there is increased fish activity. The only thing I've found the full moon poor for is fishing after dark in places where lights attract baitfish etc. which brings in predatory fish. My reasoning for there being a noticeable difference here is that the impact of the lights is reduced by the ambient light from the moon, this has been most notable for squid but there are other species I've noticed a long term trend of less productive fishing in these conditions
