Went out last night caught this monster salmon off the pier. Got another 3 squid... Gotta admit the bug is well and truly in me!!! Good times and great fishing happy days fellas!!!

To be honest it didn't put up much of a fight at all. When I hooked it thought it might have been a pinkie but once I got it to the pier I was surprised was worried it might snap my line but it didnt :)

How big was it mate? About 1-1.5 kg?

Haven't weighed it or measured it yet. I'll do it when I finish work before I cook it... Any suggestions besides smoking... Apparently from what I've read not the best tasting fish going around...

I've recently bought a smoker so have been having fun testing out different kinds of sawdust.
Salmon taste alright as long as they are eaten fresh like straight away and bled when caught. Did you bleed the fish mate?
