Portsea pier on a falling tide?

Post by ChrisD » Sat Jan 26, 2019 9:47 am

Hi All
Can anyone advise if fishing Portsea pier on a falling tide is any good?
I will be down there this weekend for a couple of hours and have time to kill - on the run out tide.
Have never fished that pier and seldom fish salt water - so any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks

Pretty much the same. Done well with the squid... tide didn’t matter.

If there are any bait fish around, it would also be worth throwing around some small metal lures for salmon and barracouta.

Good luck!
Size 2.5 or 3 should be fine. Natural colour if the water is clear and blue sky. Otherwise use bright strong vibrant colour.
Sometimes there are garfish too btw, seen them before.

Good luck this time of year. People jump off the pier everywhere. They don't care who's fishing. They jump where ever they please.. like most piers when it's warm.

You have to go in the early morning or late at night when the kids aren't around
