Flounder :o
Hey all! Hope you had a great New Years.
I was at rosebud pier last week and seen a couple of people walking through the water with their lights and spear and got me wondering, why haven’t I tried this before.
So I decided to try and target flounder as I have never caught them before. Has anyone got any reports for spearing flounder at rosebud.
Just to be clear, I mean spearing them while walking through the water.

Thanks mate.
I was going to use my 5 prong spear however, was thinking of buying this light from anaconda.
Has anyone got any review on it? Or is there something else which is better value ?

Which one do you have Welch. I am always skeptical with anything from anaconda and bcf, hard to tell what is Quaility and junk.

They are better than the old style one's where you had to cart around a 12 volt battery. These LED one's are great, I've got one that only activates when it's totally submerged which isnt ideal, but the one you shared a link to operates in & out of the water which is perfect.

I got it from a small shop in a small town but it’s got like a yellow plastic cover and overall it’s simpler and I haven’t had any problems up to date but I couldn’t tell you where the shop is because even I don’t remember but it was something like 60 dollars

Re: Flounder :o
Update: I ended up buying a light today and headed out in the water at around 11:30pm. Andddddd we got nothing and seen nothing. Those was a couple of tiny toads and that was it.
Not sure how this flounder business is meant to work however, I am sure it’s supposed to produce more results then this.
Still a nice night time stroll in the water

On a calm night got to either the Indented Head boat ramp area or St Leonard main pier area and wade around with a light and hand net for Gar Fish

Re: Flounder :o
Flounder can be very hard to spot. Most times they are covered in sand and only their eyes and a bit of an outline will be visible. They rarely lie on top of the sand. I used to go floundering around St Kilda and Sandringham and we managed some good catches at times. Best of luck with it!
