The joints been raped over the last few years. It's not surprising no one replied, nor that you did no good

When was the 2L per person rule introduced do you know? Or have people been doing the wrong thing and raping the place even with the rule in place?

Yep the ones I buy do, I was driving back from the tackel store I go to and the heat from the sun made them start to defrost and the they were all stretching out a good centermeter out of there shells I tapped the bag and try all shot back in to there shells. Hasn't happened once the bag is open.Misheen wrote:"So they come alive after being frozen"Buckle&scream wrote:For me that place is to far for not enough so I just buy them $9- per kg and they are very fresh ones I buy, when they start to defrost they start to come alive stretching out of there shells.

Re: Venus bay Pippi`s
The pippies might have been raped but how about the fishing there? I haven't been there for awhile now but every time I go I usually catch myself a nice bag of chunky salmons. It's one of the few places I have been to where I always catch them. Actually I can't think of a time I have made a trip down there and not come back with at least 10 nice salmons...

If you go there on a weekend you will understand people across all the beaches collecting pipi's some obey the law alot do not. The 2 L law has been in place for a very long time.Lightningx wrote:When was the 2L per person rule introduced do you know? Re: Venus bay Pippi`s
Last i heard there was a license issued for commercial collection of pippies from that area and as most have said every idiot goes there and fills a 20lt bucket. As fishermen and women its up to us to protect our sport, if you do see people taking more than their quota call the number on your fishing license. chances are not only are they taking more than their bag limit they will also not be licensed

Fisheries just need to get their act together and head down during peak periods, maybe even station someone there.
