Trouble is buckle who patrols the beach ? I'll bet no fisheries people have been there for years ... if at all ?

Still even at 2 litres per person between say 6 in a family is still not sustainable...how many people could you count on that beach ? must have been around 60 to 80 ? people maybe more in the distance... all bait gatherer's should have a Rec- fishers licence..
He who has the most fishing rods WINS ! :ts:

It's crazy to think that only a few years ago I would go down there and never saw anyone collecting them and there were plenty of big ones as well... Was shocked to see the footage of what's happening there now.

I have literally walked along that beach and seen a bus load....yes a freaking BUS load of people pull up and start collecting pipis. One of those big greyhound suckers as well. Must have been 50+ people on it and they all had buckets. This was in 2006.

And it would have to be worse now than then.

At least from reading it sounds like a lot of them live in subtidal zones that would be a lot harder to access, so there should be a large pool of adult shells left alone to breed.

Walk 500m either way of the end carpark you'll probably be sweet to be honest.

Unfortunally when they plan a trip somewhere they usually plan to rape somewhere for something, usually pipis, crabs or prawns or abalone, musscells, usally with the whole family and spend the whole day there getting pipis, crabs, prawns depending on where they go. People Will ways will find a away to come back with a few eskys full..so much shifty stuff going on along the vic coast line that we have no idea about..
