Lakes entrance snapper.
Hi guys being new here thought I'd try an add something worth while. Had a recent trip off lakes and got amongst a few fish. Few flaties, leather jacket and a flying gurned to go with the pinkies. My sounder died as we were heading out so was lucky to even get a feed. Anyways new sounder on board so I'm keen to get back out there and see what it's like.

Nice catch
I always thought that pink fish on the bottom of the pic was a sergeant baker, no?

Nice mixed bag imagine what you will catch if you had a sounder that worked

Re: Lakes entrance snapper.
Fish has been awesome here this year. The 4 mile and 6 mile have been producing many bag outs. I have been out once or twice a week and have not had a bad trip. Very few boats out there so nice and easy at the ramp. It is cold though so you to rug up.
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Cheers fellas. Just fished the 6 mile.
Kimtown. Na the pink fish is definitely a flying gurned. It looks a bit like a Sargent baker in the photo but fold its wings out definitely a gurned.
Re-tyred. Good to hear you have been getting a few. Winter time normally fishes well. This time last year I had some really good arvo runs till dark on the pinkies. Mostly down west though.

Maybe that's the point nudie. Sometimes it's best to follow your gut feeling. Sure, if the sounder 'goes crazy' when heading towards the location that you had planned to fish at stop and have a fish, but otherwise maybe it is best to go where you planned to go in the first place. Great catch regardless!Nude up wrote:Nice mixed bag imagine what you will catch if you had a sounder that worked
