Lakes Entrance - fishing along the main channel/entrance?
Hi,
Spent my first weekend at Lakes Entrance - no fishing, just a family holiday.
Stayed in the big apartments, close to Bullock Island. Wandered along to the rockwalls at the entrance.
Lots of seals hanging around in the water. Looks very fishy down there.
How's the fishing around the mouth of the entrance and the rockwalls?
Cheers,
Mike.

Andrew owned The Bent Rod Shop in Altona, opposite the train station. I used hang out heaps there, you could say I worked there but not for $$ but fishing tackle creditshornet wrote:"Andrew Guthrie" the name does ring a bell from long ago..

Fishing on the end of the rock walls is a good idea. Best time is on the slack water just before flood tide. I often fish there in my Tinny. The salmon and Taylor get in the wash near the beach then run up along the rocks as the tide starts to flood. If you are into luderick fishing you will find them along the rock walls too.
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.
