offshore Lakes Entrance for Easter

Post by re-tyred » Wed Mar 28, 2018 6:20 pm

So if you are down for Easter and need an idea where to go.
Pipeline 26mtrs has been ok, a bit patchy you need to put the time in. We tried the tower on the beach for a gummy or flatty, it was lunchtime by the time we went there and did no good. However if you are down early over Easter it might be worth a look as it is the full moon, but if it was me I would try out wider. 3-5mile wider at the pipe.
We had a few pinkies and one good snapper straight off Metung in 38mtrs today, only half the distance to the pipe so worth a go there if you don't want to go further down.
Last week tried out at 4 mile 6 mile and 8 mile South East of Lakes did no good at all, so the great run we have had out there seems to have stopped for now.

There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

I'll be there tomorrow night until Monday in my little tinny. Weather looks to be good right through besides Friday night!

When people say 3 mile / 6 mile reef etc, is that measued nautically straight from the entrance or is it down the coast? Also pipeline, seen it referenced a lot. Where is it roughly? Can anyone link a chart map or rough coordinates? Sorry hardly ever fished off lakes before

Pipeline isn’t territory for a little tinny it’s about off loch sport down the coast. They are marked on navionics. Not sure on other mapping. The 6 mile. No idea guessing it’s 6 miles out. Never bothered checking how far out it is. Just motor for a bit than send the pick down

Got a nice 47cm blue spot this morning and a couple junk fish.

Got no idea what I'm doing off lakes though. Couldn't find reef lol
