Hi guys. Booked accommodation with FAM for September at metung. Gonna fish lb and I hear there are lots of jetties in the area. Just wondering if anyone's fished this area and what is biting at this time. Will also try the western side of meting too. Thanks in advance

The big jetty in front of the pub is pretty good, or all along the boardwalk on the way in, cast at the yacht club. Should get trevs, but less bream around in September from experience. Maybe early flatties and whiting if water warms up more by then. Most productive in low light, midday is usually pretty quiet

Thanks for tips. Might also hire a boat off metung. Anyone had experience with fishing the flathead grounds and other proven spots around Bancroft bay? Any further tips appreciated

It's not the best time of year to be targetting flatties or anything around there the fishing will be quite slow. Go see Wendy the worm lady in Macleod street Bairnsdale on the way if anything is biting they will take sandworm.

Thats a bugger. Will try around different spots and enjoy the location. Hopefully its late September and something is around. Thanks for tackle shop advice.

I'm going there mid September. See if I catch anything.

Just went last week. Small trevally around the slipway jetty and micro bream only, not really worth it. You might want to try the beaches - good salmon schools busting up.
