Gippsland Lakes

G,Day Folk,

Heading out of Duck Arm this weekend in 4.5 m tinny
Any tips where to fish for flathead / bream or other species biting.
weather wont be flash but got to get out
bait to use ?

Sand worm and local prawn will catch everything in the lakes system.

The water is still too cold for flatties, but you might get lucky, use soft plastics, grubs or paddle tail, something with lots of action, lift and drop your rod and bounce it slowly across the bottom. Bream may be around, they are a bit of a mystery to me but I know they sure do love sandworms if you can find them, there are plenty of mullet about at the moment, and maybe tailer too. The mullet are not exactly sport fishing but they are surprisingly nice on the plate.
