Port Welshpool January LB
Hi guys. I'll be trying the new long jetty in January next year. Any ideas in what species this jetty attracts would be appreciated. Will try to do nights too. Any LB fishos welcome to join for some sessions.

Kingies are cruising around the submerged pylons nearly every day, don’t like your chances landing one with all the obstacles but ya never know

I used to fish that pier over 25 years ago. Back then you could drive out on to it. Used to get some cracking trevally just by dropping your rig down near the pylons. Also used to get heaps of Gurnard. Tailor also used to make appearances at times in huge schools. At night we used to fish under the flood light at the end and get good cuda as well. Have great memories of that structure except when they put the bollard up and we had to walk carrying all our gear.

I'm hoping that pier is going to become an excellent fishery for Victorians.. is it an idea to leave it for 6 months or so to settle? Or will fish populate it pretty much straight away..

White Soft plastics, or surface hopping stickbaits, max 30lb leader as they are a bit shy. Good luck!FishHunter81 wrote:Thanks guys for info. What rigs are best for the kingies if they are around?
