Marlo Australia Day *day two added*
As Aaron (smokin_reels) said in his report we fished down at marlo for Australia day long weekend.
I had work until 9 on the friday night, so drove down after work and a little bit of packing arriving at 2 in the morning. Quickly pitched my swag and went to sleep. I woke up in the morning to find Aaron was already on the water somewhere, so I scarfed down some breakfast and set up to join him out there, the surface bite had already slowed by the time I was on the water so we swapped over to throwing deep diving hard bodies and plastics. I picked up a small EP of a reed bank.
and a small flathead of a steeper muddy bank but it wasn't until I was coming back in that I hooked up to my first good fish for the trip, it hit a 2.5" grub on the drop and after gently leading it to the kayak I had a 62cm dusky on board. Not sure how my 4lb leader held up but I'm happy it did.
We had a 1pm high tide so we made our way down to the beach Aaron intent to try out slide baiting while I was more interested in pinging some slugs into the surf, it didn't take long to get the first salmon on the board and from then on one or two was hooked every 10 minutes. I finished up on 12 salmon with the best two both going 58cm.
Once the heat of the day passed we launched the kayaks again back into the estuary, this video does a better job showing what went on than a written report.

:icon_lolz: Bruh that slide baiting experiment though
There is always more to learn , fish to catch , places to see and friends to make.

Great report maz
With what seemed to be a great Weekend and a good range of catch. My question to you, pitching the Swag at 2am, how many times did the thumb cop a wack.
I have to say, if you and smokin_reels are going to keep persisting on catching those crocodiles , , , ,
I suggest we form a Boutique Business, Crocodile Skin Products , , , , hey, it's my idea, thirds each. What ya say
Cheers, Bugatti
