Nice I lightly fished french narrows over the weekend But didn't get anything special.

I was told the brodribb was decent but didn't know u could access it LB. Good to know
we were down at Marlo a couple weeks back and did ok. Were u using bait or lures? bait wasnt doing much down there
all the fish we caught were on squidgy bio grubs and zman grubs.
Threw a few grubz around but weren't doing much. Did ok with a bent minnow...

I fished the estuary for an hour if that, so it was by no means a proper crack.

Seen some monster flathead impressions in the sand when we were prawning so I have no doubt they are around

yeah we saw those flathead impressions as well. They were big. We only got 2 flatties out of the narrows which both were around 52cm. But besides that it was very quiet there.
Heard some great things about those bent minnows but at $20 to $30 a pop i thought i better not get any considering id probably end up casting them into a tree and losing it

so when are we going to see a report of your recent camping and fishing trip ?
I've got it all on film

There isn't much to report on since we only fished the estuary/beach for a couple hours at most resulting in some salmon, rays and a few bite offs

But we did get close to our bag of abs each day and speared some whiting, drummer etc. and got A LOT of prawns, albeit small.
Having it on film, and posting a report here are two different things mate..
Reports are what keeps the activity on the site constant, so even a **** report is better than no report..

how did you have them? ive only had them in asian dishes / soups and they been really good.
but ive been told by a friend who catches them up that way that they are great on the bbq thinly sliced with butter

hoping to get some next time im down that way but there is so much to do and not much time to do everything.

Yeah just thinly sliced in the pan with some garlic and chilli. Really really good like that.
