Weather was great today. Warm and sunny with just a very gentle northerly. A perfect day to hit the beaches.
Had a great little spin session in the suds with high water about 4.00 pm.
Had a few salmon, most just on size, but eventually a better model showed up. Just on 60 cm.
Lure of choice was a smallish , no name, milk bar brand slug.
Love days like this.

Conditions in the pic look perfect alright!
That’s a nice sambo from the surf mate.
Nice work
Cheers

Went back to Ricardo yesterday for another crack.
A totally different day. The weather was ok but the surf conditions were a mess. A very strong west to east undertow, quite a bit of weed (kelp) and very confused waves. There were some big sets rolling in and it was no day to be complacent.
After three hours of spinning I had just one skinny little salmon to show for my efforts so I decided to bait fish for a while.
The fishing was like a bad night at a bordello. All I caught was crabs!
But, that's fishing. It'll be better next time.

Hey, Whishers, your second post beat my reply.
I was going to say , , , , maaaan, days like that first day are just the best. You can fish the beach and not fight the surf

Unfortunately, your second trip highlights fighting the surf.
Great first day session though, as a bait fisho that I am, I'd even throw lures out on that first day.
Third day might be the treat for the monster Sambos.
Cheers, Bug
