There biting at Paynesville take 2

Post by ango » Thu Dec 19, 2019 3:54 pm

Hi All,
Yes there biting at Paynesville, the march flies seem to be and about early this year, but the flatties are around too, water temp is 18.6 to 19.4 depending on location. I went out Tuesday this week and caught 4 duskies, the biggest was about 63 cm and is out there still swimming.
Cheers
Ango.

Hi Tackleberry,
No problems with the Sedona, it's nice and smooth, the drag is only a single washer but seems to work OK for flatties, I need to catch a big salmon to give it a proper workout. If drags have problems I usually fix them with Carbontex washers and Teflon grease but so far the Shimano's have not needed it. One thing, there is no anti-reverse switch on it, the anti reverse is on permanently.
Cheers

I bought a daiwa airedX 4000 and while it has a 5 washer drag stack it was crap so swapped out the what feels like greased rubber with carbon and now all good .
