Had a quick fish late this afternoon very close to the beach just past where the sand outflow pipes are located. End result was a nice Gummy and a couple of missed hits. Was a bit lumpy but not too bad. With my daughter and family visiting for the ANZAC weekend it was good to stock up the freezer a bit.

Well the stars alined today for me so I left Paynesville at 15:30 and headed to the 6mile mark on the reef as I have been busting to try these cheap kabura jigs and yep they work :sr:

3 of the eight were on the jig and best of all you just drop to the bottom then wind up about 2m and put the rod in the holder and then bang your on we were only fishing for 40mins .
My sons boot is 12" long

I'm currently in Italy, then Greece and Channel Islands. Won't be back fishing till mid June. Sounds like offshore is going great 👍
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Put in a morning just past The Pines and my best catch of Flathead this year resulted - 10 retained with some solid ones and many small ones returned. About 16 m was the best depth. Also kept 2 big Gurnard, threw some smaller ones back, and also managed a small Gummy just over minimum length. The rels go home tomorrow with a good feed of fish! Was a lovely day out there.
