Goldfields Res

Post by coln72 » Thu Dec 31, 2015 8:18 am

Hi all,
Last night i convinced the missus that it was a good idea to go for a walk around Goldfields Res with the kids. To my surprise she suggested that I throw a rod in as well :-D

So off we walk, spot a likely looking spot to wet a line. One of my kids decided to stay with me. After a change of lure, we started to pull in a few small reddies and then bang - this one felt a bit heftier. In came a 30cm reddie - tried to get the youngun to pull it in but it was too much for him. As usual, I wasn't prepared - nothing to store it in so I had to run back to the car to grab a bucket

After changing spots a couple of times and having my oldest decide he wanted to catch one as well, we ended up with 5 small reddies, the big one and a couple that dropped off the lure.

Great way to spend an hour or so.

Cool report, it's good when the kids take an interest. I've tried for yrs to get my two into fishing. Only now one of them has cost a small fortune for Santa lol

It's good the kids get interested in fishing, well done, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them
