Last night i convinced the missus that it was a good idea to go for a walk around Goldfields Res with the kids. To my surprise she suggested that I throw a rod in as well
So off we walk, spot a likely looking spot to wet a line. One of my kids decided to stay with me. After a change of lure, we started to pull in a few small reddies and then bang - this one felt a bit heftier. In came a 30cm reddie - tried to get the youngun to pull it in but it was too much for him. As usual, I wasn't prepared - nothing to store it in so I had to run back to the car to grab a bucket :oops:
After changing spots a couple of times and having my oldest decide he wanted to catch one as well, we ended up with 5 small reddies, the big one and a couple that dropped off the lure.
Great way to spend an hour or so.
