Rocklands New Years day

Post by Freshfishin » Mon Jan 05, 2015 1:51 pm

Spent the morning of New Years day in the boat at rocklands wetting a few lines. The result was 14 reddies. The pic shows what we took home!

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

X2

Number 1 Vic freshwater fish for the table. Can't beat 'em imo.
I tend to fillet them and skin them, then cut out the rib cage. You are then left with a sweet piece of meat that just melts in your mouth. Come to think of it, this is pretty well how I prepare most of my fish nowadays. Boneless and skinless.

Great feed there Freshfishin!
Were you bait fishing, trolling, or having a flick with lures?

All on bait, didn't get a touch on lures. Yabbies worms and gudgeon did the job

I am a little partial to the Redfin as well. Good job. My spot for Redfin fishing has completely dried up. It used to be nearly a fish every 3 casts and now I have donutted the last four attempts. Last night was particularly disappointing as I worked the whole dam just before sunset until dark without a touch. Glad someone is catching and not just fishing.
