Eildon this weekend

Hey guys!
The family went on a weekend trip to lake eildon on a houseboat. Just when we got to the jetty where the houseboat was moored, we saw a pair of at least 120cm cod surfacing. So quick as I could I tied on some cod lures but no luck. While my parents were sorting out the rental details I had a quick flick with some plastics, landing a 37cm reddy and a few 20cm ones.
We began exploring the lake via houseboat, and naturally I trolled a variety of lures, ending up with 3 trout around the 30cm mark. We found a suitable spot to spend the night, so we tied up the boat and settled in for dinner with another family that had come along. During dinner we had a big hit on a live yabby that turned out to be a decent carp at 60cm. It went quiet after that.
Next morning, woke up at 6 and walked the banks casting placcys while the adults prepared brekkie. Landed a Redfin at 40cm dead on, and dropped another 40+ fish. Countless tiny Redfin were also landed.
After brekkie we set out on the houseboat again, exploring the lake, while also trolling some lures. At around 9am there was a hit on the cod lure - my mate pulled up a 40cm trout cod.
Nothing else happened after that, and it was time to leave.
All in all was a great trip, with everything but the carp and a pair of Redfin released.
Cheers!
