First time fishing the Murray - any tips?

Post by Paul Foot » Wed Mar 28, 2018 6:43 pm

Heading up with the family to a resort on the Murray at Cobram over Easter. Having never fished north of Geelong just after some advice as I have no idea beyond sticking a worm on a hook. I expect Cod and Carp will be in there, I know what Carp eat but no idea about Cod or even what else lives in there. Any advice regarding lures, bait etc...would be much appreciated. Thanks

Two things mate!
For bait fishing take some cheese cubes with you the cod & just about everything else love them.
Take a Shrimp net from what I hear they are all over the river and we got plenty on our recent cod trip.
A smart person knows what to say. A wise person knows whether to say it.

OK thanks, at least the shrimp net will keep the rugrats entertained.
