Left Melbourne Monday , late am
Arrived at the Riverbank Caravan park and threw some stuff in the cabin ($90 4 2)
Fished the Broken creek, rear of the park, until night. Pretty shallow water
Fished the creek am, then Barmah Pete arrived. We fished until after dark.
On Wednesday we hit the creek with everything, worms, corn, sp's and even bacon
The only hook--ups were big reds, Pete did land a 1kilo specimen, but, you can't eat gum fish
Moved to Barmah on Thursday ($120 4 2) and fished the Murray until after dark
Like the creek, we threw everything we had at the fish
Again the only hook-ups were big reds. I must say we were casting at the snags in the hope of a fish. I must have lost 20 hooks and a few sinkers.
No fish were harmed in this adventure, but, it was fun on light gear
The weather was grouse, mid 20's and no wind.
Great weather, great friends and a few beers, can't lose
Cheers Gra
