Elmore

Post by kenzie101 » Sun Dec 15, 2013 9:18 am

Hi all,

Spent a few hours yesterday at Elmore fishing the weir.

Caught a fair few Carp-all around 40-50 cms and fat as Santa after Christmas eve.

All caught on worms or corn. Basic running sinker to a swivel or straight to the hook with a #2 Circle hook and a small sinker.

Nice day to sit in the sun and relax for a while.

Through a few soft plastics and spinner baits around as well to no avail.

Looks quite nativey though with all the snags, particularly near the camping areas.

Cheers,
Mark.

Next time try near the channel outlet, caught some nice yella's out of there.
Good things come to those who wait!

Well done kenzie, shame you didn't pick up a few natives. Still sounds like you had a nice day any way, and that's what counts most of all.
cheers

It Is a nice spot, tends to fish better when the water is up. If its flooded head back towards Heathcote where the bridge is before you cross the bridge head left look for a big dead tree, yellas hang around that tree when the water is fast. Spinners or small yabbys work good in the backwash there.
(use to live not far from there )
