Well done on the cod Jed  yeah the troutys can be annoying at times in those parts. If you hook a good one you know about it though.

I was planning on heading up the bush friday for the weekend, but looking at the weather forecast i don't think i want to be camped in there now.

Too right Drew, It's gunna be a warm one and it only takes one not so bright spark to start a drama without mother nature doing it, cheers davo
It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

All I got on Cod opening was a day of sun at Mulwala and got out fished by the wife on day 2. Not to mention a dead battery at the river. Thankfully the RACV bloke met me at the track and came in even though he wasn't supposed to go offroad...
Watch out greenbacks, ESLOP is coming for you ;-)

You've got no idea how much it stings Davo.

In my defence, it was my rod, baited with my yabby, by me, cast in by me and retrieved by her because I was too far away. I declare a joint effort

Not the biggest cod by far, but I'm off the mark for the season and off the surface which always makes them a little more special.

Hi folks,
i rejoined this forum again...finally. lol
This forum has always been thriving with good info & knowledge being shared amongst all the fisho's;)

just thought id give a report from my dad & his mates who just got back from yarrawonga . They fished from opening day to yesty.

They have a 'fairly wellknown' *secret spot* they go to which is accessed from the NSW side of the Murray @ the section called Black Hole. Alot of boaties would know the spot well;)

So after 25 years going to this spot my dads mate caught a once in a lifetime murray cod appx 90cm-1m!!

My dad was quietly spewin lol!.

Total catch (x3 ppl):
-big mamma cod x1 (catch n release;)
-dad: x2 yellowbelly 50cm each. (butter in the frypan)

Bait: store bought Yabbys. (they had plenty fresh shrimp from the net. but didnt use any)

Overall he said, due to the busy daytime waterski & donut traffic goin back n forth at the spot, the yella bite was fairly average but the trip was very memorable due to the
phat Cod;)

I will post a photo as soon A.S.A.P!

Cheers !
