It's satisfying to make your own and even more so when they catch fish for you.

Very good work! Are you still on the lure forum I put you onto? I left it a fair while ago...being a non-lure maker, I felt rather inadequate!
Was certainly some impressive stuff on it!

I do look every now and again but they are in a different league.
have you ever tried surface lures at club bender?

I do look every now and again but they are in a different league.
have you ever tried surface lures at club bender?
Once or twice but never for a serious amount of time to give it a good test. Others have tried it as well but the same...half hearted attempts. Upstream of the reg really lends itself to surface lures as their is heavy weed beds that make life difficult for diving lures. But for all the time I have spent out there, I have never heard a cod 'boofing'...ever!

I saw a bird get taken by a Cod while drinking from a willow branch some years back.
And the other week was out the goulburn with one of my surface lures rigged up and a cod boofed about 80 metres up stream.
i could not interest him though.
