Cod opening 2014!

Post by Rod Bender » Tue Oct 28, 2014 10:25 am

So who is making an effort? Eventually I will get down to a river and have a go with lures. Have been trying for a yella on a lure so only difference will be using larger lures. I have a goal of getting a cod off the surface...something I have tried once before without luck. All my effort in December will be along the lines of 2 - 3 hour trips locally...fish with spinnerbaits until the light fades then surface lures.
cheers

Already have the first week camping away planned. Surface for me this year too. Probably won't have much luck off the surface until it gets really hot. January, February time.
Cheers, Scott.

Golden Perch: 49 on TN60

I've got the first 2 week's off in december :-D Will be camped up on the murray somewhere ready to go fishing come the monday morning. Last year a lot of the track's in were closed off so going to wait & see what the option's are before deciding where.

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Will be on the Murray around Yarrawonga or Echuca somewhere in the first week.

Just need to wangle a day or two off.

I'll probably be giving the Yarra a good go for the first week and then heading up to the Cod Classic for a weekend of solid cod chasing, can't wait to get into it again, I've only been fishing maybe 3-4 times since the season closed.

A cod off the surface is a big one I'd like to tick off this season, oh and a metery, that's not asking too much is it?
