Albert Park Lake

Post by johnat24 » Tue Sep 08, 2015 1:00 am

I've yet to catch any type of Aussie native and as I'm just up the road from St Kilda I was wondering if it would be worth trying it out for yellowbelly... Anyone tried it or have any advice ie; baits, methods, time of day etc, etc?

That lake cops a lot of pressure I've tried it a few times for no results don't quote me on it but pretty sure it's lure only..

If u do catch a yellowbelly there it'd be a big fish!

I've seen video of someone catching yellas there. And they were stonkas. But very long hours for reward.

Yep definitely yellas in there you can both bait and lure fish but lures are more productive for yellas especially the ecogear ZX 35 and 40.

If all else fails - there will be 1,000 extra rainbow trout in there very soon

Only fished there once, was using bait.
As soon as i'd set up the swans/ducks would start making there way over thinking they could score a feed.
Moved a few times well clear of any birds, but they'd make there way over eventually.
Spotted a few carp, a dead possum, and caught and released one duck who dived under to grab my worm.
Might be better off walking the banks with a few lures.

My thinking too mcmonier...not too interested in carp but the chance of a trout as well is worth a walk.
