Re: Cod opening 2015!
Will just keep fishing the usual spot (channel) although using larger lures and bait/hooks. Will spend some time in the Goulburn as well using a black King Fisher Mantis lure I have...set a goal to get first cod of surface this year...no attempts so far.

Re: Cod opening 2015!
Good luck Jim. Cod on surface would have to be the biggest freshwater adrenaline rush you can have. I remember my first, it scared the crap outta me when it hit. It was a 92cm fish, and to see this massive bucket of a mouth blast out of the snags in about a 50cm of water, is a memory I'll never forget. Then came the battle to land it in shallow water from a yak...!Rod Bender wrote:Will just keep fishing the usual spot (channel) although using larger lures and bait/hooks. Re: Cod opening 2015!
Good luck to all those heading out for opening.
I'm toying with the idea of heading out but am unsure as to whether or not there will be much of a crowd chasing them. Never tried cod opening but with trout season your best off waiting a bit for the crowds to die off. Has this been anyone's experience with cod opening?
Cheers Alex
