Report from the weekend

Headed up Swan Hill way for our annual getaway. Fantastic weather but the river was flowing hard.Four boats fished hard over the weekend for little reward.The river came up about 70 cm in 3 days. Best cod was 63 Sorry I was in another boat so no pics. Cheese and shrimp seemed to be the baits of choice. We did manage one Yella on the troll. He must have been starving because he engulfed the front treble on a 100mm stump jumper. The yella measured 34cm and went home for the table. We also managed 4 other yellow Belly for the weekend and surprisingly only a couple of carp.
Lots of laughs and beers.

Shrimp were about but with the river running so hard not abundant. We did try yabbies to no effect and one off sider dropped a nice cod, at the bank, on a grub. Poor grub had been bouncing around for a while before the hit. Had his drag up tight an POP!
He did receive quite a large amount of Sh!* for the crap effort. :oops:

Good job murlz nice fish. Always wanted to catch a cod. Just never chased them.
