Ok. So i finally managed to get into my first ever bass.
Not big fish by any means but i was just happy to catch one. Got another 4 more including one on surface which is also my first.
Great fun and a lovely day out.
They were pretty hard going so we did struggle. But eventually we found them and got a few including a few redfin.

Well done mate love bass fishing especially chasing the surface bite. Got smoked by a solid fish about a week ago off the surface still hurts a lot. Leader knot broke will be re tying leaders on my lure rods after each session now as I believe the light line and abrasion from the eyes wore the knot.

The best thing fisheries have done for freshwater fishing in Gippsland is the stocking program of Australia bass across a few lakes and rivers.

What lures did you get the fish on this could become an epic thread.

Looking at your picture you were fishing in pretty light conditions.
