Nice vid Alex - assuming it was tough going to get onto fish up there. Did you get any boofs at all on the first night?

It was a slow weekend, didn't get a single touch on surface but that's just how it goes for cod sometimes

Nice vid.
Do you find the cod is slower now? I heard it is.
I am planning to go to Murchison for cod next weekend, hopefully they're still willing to play. Still haven't landed my first cod on surface :-(

It depends on where you are but in general it is slowing down. If you want a cod on surface just commit to using surface lures and nothing else. Most of the time it results in less fish being caught but it will get you a surface cod.

Thanks mazman, I will go hardcore on the surface lure this Sat. Going to Murchison/Shepparton, hopefully the water condition is good.
Would you use surface lure mid day though? Or should I start around 4pm til dark?

My best ever surface session was from 2-4 in the afternoon. The key during the middle of the day is to put your lure deep into snags and pay attenton to where there is shade. Best chances are definitely when there is less light but if you pick one up off the edges in the middle of the day you'll keep questioning whether it would have gone for a surface presentation.
