Vic Fisheries are going gangbusters right now with their fish raising and restocking of natives across Victoria.
Their target is to stock with at least 10,000,000 fish a year.
I'm curious to know the survival rate of these stocked fish or are the newly stocked fry and fingerlings merely providing food for existing fish stocks?
Have our forum members noticed any improvements in stocks of native fish in their local waters?

Re: 10 million fish across Victoria
In metro areas, those EP stockings do make a difference.
I have caught more EPs within the last 2-3 years than the prior 10 years, both Nong and Yarra.
Trout, yellowbelly and EP in Albert Park is also a great stocking. Not all of them survived or many be taken home, but it's better than nothing. It used to have a lot of carp there and that's it.

Also in the campaspe in central Victoria. I used to catch only reddies and carp and now yellas are more likely. Still plenty of carp around though.

Rocklands in western Vic used to be carp and redfin only but has been heavily stocked for the last 4 or 5 years. Plenty of cod and yellas now
