Maximum Winds

Post by SWVIcSam » Wed Oct 31, 2018 12:44 pm

Hey guys have a trip planned out to come down fish from Clifton springs or portarlington this Friday night. Not sure weather to bother due to change in forecast. What is sort of maximum winds do you say no to going out. I will be fishing from a 625 cruise craft

Depends on what you are comfortable with how well you know the area is there a place you can fish out of the wind ect.

But somewhere between 15-20 knts would be most peoples limit.

In that boat you could pretty much fish any weather as long as you're comfortable. I personally wouldn't go out in anything over 25knots.

I don't bother going anything over 15 knots

I hate sitting in chop with the boat swaying

So yeah there's like 10 days in a year I get to fish

Thanks to all for there input. I’m used to fishing offshore from Warrnambool or port fairy. Bay fishing a hell of a lot different. Plans have changed will be travelling down and fishing Saturday. Thanks again.

Hey kimtown have you tried tying a bridle on your boat to stop the swaying, works well
