Drifting for Squid

Post by Rogue_Hunter » Mon Dec 16, 2013 10:20 am

Been stalking to the wind for a few weeks now, wanting to hit a fav. spot of mine and finally the stars lined up, low wind, later hightide and nice weather.

Took my sons out on a day of relaxing (for them anyway!) 6year old, outfished his older 9yr old brother.

Landed a couple squid, enough for a feed. Kids later played in the water #FunTimes

Nice work Rogue water looks great and the kids would've had a ball :a_goodjob:

Thanks guys, hopefulyl the wind stays away and we can get out more often and chase the ting\squid!

FishSniper,

The 2 at the back of the boat are my rods and the front is my own little design i whipped up. Its CRE LED lighting for the boat. Its made out of alluminium posts with 4 L brackets which act as hinges. 2 bolts with butterlfy nuts are used to hold the frame in the vertical position (when on the water) and Horizontal positon (when driving). I have 3 lights on them which produce over 1500 lumens. It lights up the entire boat and the some of the water past the gunnels. It uses hardly any ampage and run on all night.

Here are some pics for anyone that was interested; cables run thru the tubing, under the gunnels to a swithcboard.
