Very true about Geoff was a legend of the fishing community but in recent years the focbag group have been posting out of context half truths.

Geoff has (from what I can see) been involved in this and his reputation is far from what it was.

The video is garbage.

Watch episode 7 to see what really goes on.

In episode 7... IMO was heavily edited, when sorting the catch one guy is constantly clearing weed out the net with a flat net like a tennis racket, even if penguins or possibly a dolphin were caught do you think they would show that ? It was a pro fishermen spruke video nothing more.

There must have been HUGE amounts of weed torn from the bottom, weed and coral is the most important thing to the ecology of the bay, with 42 licensed pro's how much weed is up rooted in a year considering the length of nets.

I look forward to PPB fishing as well as Western port once the bottom recovers, and fish return to once weeded areas to breed in peace.

Put what ever spin you want on it, the community at large and small coastal townships benefit from the recreational fishing sector.
He who has the most fishing rods WINS ! :ts:

Agree hornet, both political parties have commited to the removal of commercial netting in Corio bay & Port Phillip Bay :victory:

Ask Charlie Micallef how much ended up on the cutting room floor. You'll find it's bugger all of the important bits like sorting the catch.
Quite a lot of the weed would've already been floating thanks to a previous blow the same as it does everywhere. There's still copious amounts of floating weed in Westernport. Those big bad pros must be illegally netting still since its no better on the weed or fishing front than it has been the last decade .......

I'm quite sure you would've done more damage to fish stocks in the 80s than the current 42 pros do annually.

As for the video, I've seen nightclub toilets at 3am better than that load of ****
