Outer harbor session 17/09/17
Hi Guys Quick report from today.
Decided to head out to the Wilson spit today to see if any reds were around. Got to our spot just on the Wilson spit around 4.30 am in anticipation of a 5.15 tide change. The tide came and went and no bites at all.
At 6 30am a rod finally decided to buckle over, no tell tale snapper head shakes so straight away thought its a port Jackson shark. After a short fight to our surprise pulled in a gummy shark.
Over the next 2 hours we were lucky enough to get our bag of gummy, released a few smaller ones too, caught 3 juvenile school sharks which were all released and caught one tiny Flathead, so what started out as a snapper session turned into a very productive daylight gummy session.
Fish were caught on salmon fillets and garfish, all the gummys we kept had the small salmon pieces we had been burlying with in their guts.
Water temp was a balmy 10.2 degrees and we were in 6m of water.
